For the fourth event in the series, Coppell set a different kind of table.
Together We Dine™: Youth Edition was designed specifically for Coppell high school students, and it made one thing clear from the start: this wasn’t a program about the future. It was about the present. About the students who are already shaping what Coppell is becoming, and who deserve a space to do that work out loud, with each other.
The themes: belonging, solidarity, and advocacy, were chosen with intention. These are words that resonate differently at 16 than they do at 46. They carry the particular weight of a generation that has grown up navigating questions of identity, community, and their place in a world that's changing fast. Project Unity facilitators guided small groups through conversations about how students experience belonging in Coppell, how they stand in solidarity with peers whose stories differ from their own, and what kind of community they want to help build.
This wasn't adults talking at students. It was students talking with each other; honestly, and about things that matter to them.
Mayor Mays, who personally invited students to attend, put it plainly:
“You make Coppell special, not just because you’re ‘the future,’ but because you’re the present.”
One Coppell is for everyone — and that means everyone. The Youth Edition wasn’t a junior version of a grown-up program. It was One Coppell meeting young residents where they are, with conversations designed specifically for their experience of this community. When students walk away asking how they can advocate for the Coppell they want to see, that’s One Coppell’s mission made real: an entire community, across every generation, actively choosing to build something together.
